Suspect arrested after standoff at Kerr Crossing Apartments

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) has arrested a wanted suspect after a standoff at an apartment complex in Wilmington on Friday morning.

According to WPD, 35-year-old Hykeem Gaymon was taken into custody and charged with:

  • 2 counts of breaking and entering with intent to terrorize.
  • 2 counts of assault on a female.
  • 1 count of assault by pointing a gun.

WPD says officers responded to Kerr Crossing Apartments for a dispute between a brother and a sister at around 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 15.
