HOLDEN BEACH, N.C. (WBTV) – A tornado touched down at a North Carolina beach on Thursday evening.
The EF-0 tornado started as a waterspout over the Atlantic Ocean and moved onshore at Holden Beach on Aug. 14 around 5:45 p.m, according to the National Weather Service.
A preliminary report from the National Weather Service said the twister “very briefly occurred,” and that it only caused minor tree and beach furniture damage. The report did not say how much time the tornado spent on the ground, nor how long its path was…
