Man being held on $1.5M bond following large drug bust in New Hanover Co.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A several-month-long investigation led to the arrest of a man in Wilmington who is being held on a $1.5 million bond.

On August 19, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO) says its Vice & Narcotics division carried out a search warrant at the home of Guy Braxton Williams on McClammy Street.

According to NHCSO, detectives seized:

  • Over 2,100 pressed fentanyl pills
  • 394 MDMA pills
  • 167 grams (6 ounces) of cocaine
  • Marijuana
  • Four handguns
  • Two rifles
  • One stolen dirt bike

Williams has been charged with:

  • Two counts of Trafficking Opium/Heroin
  • Two counts of Trafficking MDMA
  • Two counts of Trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
  • Additional narcotics-related charges

According to NHCSO, Williams is currently being held in the New Hanover County Detention Facility, with a bond set at $1.5 million.
