“Wings Up for Wilmington:” Volunteers celebrate community nearly 7 years since Hurricane Florence

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – It’s been nearly seven years since Hurricane Florence made landfall in Southeastern North Carolina, and volunteers with UNCW’s “Wings Up for Wilmington” gave back to celebrate unity following the devastation.

On Friday and Saturday, over 300 students, faculty and staff will volunteer at different organizations, like the Diaper Bank of North Carolina.
