GALLERY: Remembering Hurricane Florence

(WPDE) — Sunday marks the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Florence making Landfall in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, on Sept. 14, 2018.

Over the next few days, the storm produced excessive rainfall, causing record-breaking flooding across eastern North Carolina and a portion of northeastern South Carolina.

More than 30 inches of rain were measured in some North Carolina locations, and 23.63 inches in Florence, South Carolina, setting a new statewide record for tropical rainfall.

The storm’s aftermath was devastating for businesses, homes, beaches and families due to flooding along the Cape Fear, Northeast Cape Fear, Lumber and Waccamaw Rivers.
