Developers are working on plans to bring nearly 12,500 homes, along with space for schools and commercial development, on 4,378 acres along Brunswick County’s Town and Turkey creeks.
Strategic Real Estate Partners LLC, an Atlanta-based firm that also has a presence in Charlotte, is working with Brunswick County officials during the planning process for the massive community, which would be bordered by N.C. 87 (Maco Road) and Town Creek Road.
The drawings submitted to the county by McKim & Creed of Wilmington break down the multi-faceted proposal by acres (shown at left), with more than 100 acres designated as commercial space in scattered town centers and 205 acres designated as flex space that could hold about 775 residential units or commercial space/offices.
The plans, labeled “Maco Road Planned Development Site” with an address of 2111 Maco Road NE, also show 98 acres of recreational space and 1,450 acres of passive open space that are wetlands…
