Nearly 12,500 unit development proposed in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A developer has proposed a plan to build a 12,499-unit development in Brunswick County.

According to the County, Strategic Real Estate Partners LLC has proposed to build the development off Maco Road NE.

The site plan includes:

  • Plans for a combined Elementary and Middle School complex, a High School complex, and several commercial properties.
  • Primary entrance between Patrick Drive NE and Beasley Road.
  • 98.5 acres of recreation space.
  • 1,450 acres of passive open space and wetlands.

The site plan also mentions that portions of the land are in Flood Zone A and Flood Zone AE, but no residential lots will be proposed in the AE flood zone…
