Searches for “pumpkin spice” are starting earlier and earlier, according to a report from DoorDash. This year, it spiked on Aug. 19 (two weeks earlier than in 2021) when it was a steamy 90 degrees or so in the Wilmington area.
Accordingly, Starbucks released their fall menu on Aug. 26, complete with the iconic Pumpkin Spice Latte. And while the spice blend that typically includes cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves remains popular, there’s also some pumpkin spice fatigue, according to research from Bickford Flavors.
Here’s a look at some of the other flavors you might see this autumn, which officially started on Sept. 22.
Nutty and earthy
If there’s a breakout flavor, it’s pecan, according to DoorDash. It’s fall’s fastest-growing flavor, with orders up 28% year-over-year.
