Weekend mass shooting suspects both had ties to North Carolina military base, per report

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (WBTV) – Two gunmen who were allegedly responsible for separate mass shootings in the United States this past weekend reportedly had ties to a North Carolina Marine base.

Sister-station WITN reported that Nigel Edge and Thomas Sanford — who were allegedly behind mass casualty events in North Carolina and Michigan, respectively — were both stationed at Camp Lejeune on the North Carolina coast.

Authorities said that Edge pulled up to the American Fish Company waterfront bar in Southport, N.C. on Saturday, Sept. 27 and opened fire from a boat. He was accused of killing three people and injuring at least five others. Members of the Coast Guard spotted his boat less than an hour later and detained him until police came to arrest him…
