SOUTHPORT, N.C. — “Amazing Grace” rang out Sunday at the American Fish Company, but this time the popular Southport bar wasn’t just a place for music, it had become a memorial.
High Point native Joey Whitaker performed the song with a powerful message in honor of the three lives lost during the recent shooting.
“That was one of the absolute hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life,” Whitaker said. “There was a lot of feeling there. When I first got there a man approached me and the first thing he did was hug me, and I hugged him back.”…
