WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Pender County Schools is offering new incentives to recruit and retain bus drivers as the district struggles with a daily shortage of 6 to 8 drivers, despite operating at full capacity.
The decision comes after the school district adopted a new bell schedule, which was partly aimed at helping tackle their ongoing issues with transportation.
