$1.5 million bond set for Wilmington man caught with drugs, stolen weapon

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A Wilmington man has been arrested and faces felony charges after officers seized narcotics and a stolen firearm during a late-night arrest.

The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) reports that officers were patrolling near South 10th and Queen streets around 8:25 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6, when they attempted to stop a bicyclist, identified as 46-year-old Victor Campbell, riding without proper lights. Campbell ran away, leaving the bike behind, which led officers to chase and arrest him.

Campbell was arrested in front of a home near 11th and Queen Streets. During the struggle, WPD claims Campbell hit an officer in the face before officers managed to arrest him…
