WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Blood is made up of four parts: red cells, white cells, plasma, and platelets. Platelets are cells that help form clots and control bleeding. It’s needed for cancer patients, those with blood disorders, and organ transplants.
Vinton Smith is one man taking on a challenge to help others by donating platelets in all 50 states.
