Two months after a building explosion shook Wilmington, property owners are planning a total demolition of the facility.
On Aug. 19, a building exploded on New Centre Drive after a vehicle struck a nearby gas meter. The building, a future Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center, was weeks from opening after completing extensive renovations. Four firefighters were injured during the incident.
