WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Target location at 4711 New Centre Drive is one of seven stores that were fined for price scanning errors during the third quarter of 2025.
The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Standards Division inspects price-scanner systems in businesses to verify the accuracy of prices advertised and rung up at the register.
The inspectors drop in periodically and unannounced, and if a store has an overcharge error rate of more than 2%, they schedule a more intensive inspection for later, after discussing the findings with the store manager…
