Man wanted on felonies arrested after ignoring Wilmington traffic stop

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A man wanted on multiple outstanding felonies was arrested by Wilmington police on Sunday.

A Wilmington police officer saw a truck driven by 36-year-old Samuel Whitley of Wilmington near S. 13th and Dawson streets at about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 2.

The officer attempted a traffic stop, but Whitley ignored it and kept driving. According to WPD, the officer followed Whitley with emergency lights and sirens activated until Whitley stopped at the intersection of 16th Street and Greenfield Street…
