YWCA Lower Cape Fear offers aid amid SNAP disruption

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – YWCA Lower Cape Fear is offering households across the region assistance to offset any burdens caused by the recent disruption to SNAP benefits.

YWCA will give out $50 grocery gift cards to up to 100 families who have lost access to their SNAP benefits for November.

“Access to food is a fundamental human right, and depriving people, especially children, of this right leads to devastating consequences. We must demand accountability to ensure everyone has reliable access to food—no exceptions. We must all weigh in to assist in this crisis,” YWCA President & CEO Velva Jenkins said…
