Oak Island Residents Invited to Town Council Meeting Nov. 12: Public Hearings, Parking Report, and New Business on Agenda

The Oak Island Town Council will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 6 p.m. This date is different from the usual schedule because of the Veterans Day holiday. The meeting will be in the Council Chambers on the second floor of Town Hall at 4601 E. Oak Island Drive. The public may attend and participate. Sign-up sheets will be available for those who want to speak during public hearings or the general comment period. Each speaker will have three minutes to address the Council.

The meeting will include two public hearings. The first hearing will cover proposed changes to Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances about vegetation. The Council discussed this topic last month and asked the Planning Board to review it further. The second hearing will consider proposed changes to the Unified Development Ordinance. These changes include updates to the approval process for major subdivisions and site plans, and rules for nonconforming commercial structures.
