Wilmington, NC — A warm, breezy Sunday is underway across southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina, but the combination of dry air, dry vegetation, and gusty winds will elevate fire danger this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Temperatures will climb into the mid-70s along the coast and the upper 70s inland, making for another unseasonably mild day. Skies will remain mostly sunny, but the bigger concern is the strengthening winds.
