BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a fake pharmacy phone call scam.
The BCSO says they’ve received reports of phone calls from people claiming to represent Walgreens or other pharmacies. The callers say they are “updating flu shot records” or confirming prescriptions and then ask for personal information.
Callers are asking for date of birth, address or Social Security number, insurance or Medicare details, prescription or medical account numbers…
