WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – An amended complaint has been filed in a family’s lawsuit against New Hanover County Schools and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.
The amended complaint, filed Nov. 25 in New Hanover Superior Court, makes several changes to the original one filed in October. Jordan Tun, a Laney High School student, is now suing for damages in excess of $25,000, according to the complaint, which also adds new allegations against NHCS, NCHSAA and the District Attorney’s office.
The state athletic association, previously considered a nominal defendant – meaning they weren’t accused of wrongdoing but have an interest in the case – are now named as a defendant under the new complaint…
