Brunswick County Animal Shelter to Expand

On November 17, Brunswick County Commissioners approved transferring funds for a new Brunswick County Sheriff’s Animal Protection Services facility to expand the current housing capacity.

The board voted 4-1 to move $650,000 from the county’s Capital Reserve undesignated funds toward an agreement with Myers & Chapman, Inc. for the first step in the project. The contractor, hired for about $639,000, will begin by designing the facility, followed by construction. The new 10,000-square-foot building will be located just north of the existing APS site at 429 Green Swamp Road in Supply, North Carolina, and will help meet the needs of the county’s growing population…
