The first phase of a New Hanover County business park is headed for construction with more than a decade of work lying ahead.
The Holly Shelter Business Park will bring millions of industrial square footage space to land in Castle Hayne. The county is accepting construction bids for roadway infrastructure improvements for the first phase of the park until Jan. 15, 2026, according to county documents. Construction on phase one is anticipated to take 15 months to complete.
The project, which has been in the works since 2023, is a partnership between Sidbury Land and Property, New Hanover County and Wilmington Business Development. A full build of the four-phase project is anticipated by 2041.
What’s in the plans?
The Holly Shelter Business Park will be located between 5700 and 6208 Holly Shelter Road. The development will consist of approximately 2.4 million square feet of industrial space across a 320-acre site.
