Changes to the existing North 17 Shopping Center at 3402 Market St. in Wilmington are progressing this week. Site plans have shown the owner expects to replace it with a five-story mixed-use building that holds retail space and 53 residential units.
“We will be moving forward with a development (of) the site,” said Annamaria Lookman, chief operating officer of Quantum Real Estate LLC. The company bought the property Jan. 9 for $1.16 million, according to tax records. The city of Wilmington released the project for construction Oct. 14.
The proposed building is 77,730 square feet, with the retail space covering 15,546 square feet, and the parking lot will feature 198 parking spaces, according to the site plans. The apartments will primarily feature one- and two-bedroom units, with two three-bedroom units…
