WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) — With Christmas just days away, first responders are warning parents about potential battery hazards in popular holiday toys and devices.
Lithium-ion batteries power everything from toys and e-bikes to smart devices. They pack a lot of energy into a small package, and when they’re misused, they can catch fire or, in rare cases, explode.
