New gated community approved in Brunswick with an extra condition

With over 10,000 approved housing units and a new highway on the horizon, a new gated community and businesses are slated for rural Brunswick County backroads.

The Brunswick County Planning Board on Dec. 8 approved the Woodland Reserve planned development after previously denying the originally proposal, formerly named Farmstead Grove. Once built, the gated community will add hundreds of homes and a commercial area to a rocky road near Ash.

Concerns about traffic, environment and basic needs have been raised for southern Brunswick after multiple development projects have been approved surrounding generational agricultural areas.
