Pender County recently took a step toward mandating more responsible development in the county.
Pender County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the state, and this has come with issues. Growth has stressed infrastructure, including roads and emergency services. This has led to major pushback on any development occurring within the county. Some Pender residents recently called for a moratorium on high-density development, citing these infrastructure issues as the reason.
