CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – The Town of Carolina Beach is reminding residents and visitors of firework laws ahead of New Year’s celebrations.
According to the town, any firework that leaves the ground is illegal in the state of North Carolina, including:
- Roman candles
- Bottle rockets
- Firecrackers
- Spinners
- Aerial fireworks
- Any firework that leaves the ground
Sparklers, smoke devices and fountains are legal because they do not leave the ground, the town said.
“In addition to being against the law, unauthorized fireworks can cause injuries or even death, including risks of fires and damages to property. Please let our police and fire officials focus on ensuring safety for all and make the wise choice to attend and enjoy an official, legal fireworks show,” the town said in a Facebook post…
