North Carolina – Rain darkens sidewalks and sends ripples across puddles this morning as a damp, unsettled pattern settles over the Cape Fear region. Coastal streets feel slick, and tide-sensitive areas face added concerns as water levels creep higher during morning high tides.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, rain continues through late morning with totals between a quarter and half an inch. Minor coastal flooding is possible along the lower Cape Fear River, from Wilmington southward, especially during the morning high tide cycles through early next week.
