WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – North Carolina ranks at or near the bottom in education funding categories despite being one of the wealthiest states in the country, according to the Education Law Center’s 2025 “Making the Grade” report.
The report ranks states on funding level, the spending per student, and funding effort, how much North Carolina is investing relative to the state’s economy. North Carolina ranked at or near the bottom in both categories.
