Maxton man gets 14 years in federal prison on drug, firearm charges

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WBTW) — A Maxton man will spend 14 years in federal prison for selling drugs to undercover agents and illegally possessing a gun, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

Lloyd Kinston Locklear Jr., 36, pleaded guilty on April 9, 2024 and was sentenced last month.

“Drug dealers who flood our communities with dangerous drugs put families and children at risk. They don’t care who they kill. We will not tolerate it,” U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle said. “This criminal chose drugs, guns and chaos over the safety of kids in our neighborhoods.”…
