First Alert Forecast: weekend bitter cold likely, winter precipitation chance increase

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Tuesday through Friday will continue to chill with daytime high temps in the 40s and nights sinking to the 20s. Average Cape Fear highs and lows are now upper 50s and middle 30s, so your First Alert Forecast is unusually cold even by latter January standards.

This weekend: low pressure will reinforce the cold, and, if it forms close enough to the coast, possibly add moisture for snow. At this range, details will remain hazy; your First Alert Weather Team will certainly advise, especially if the signal for snow gets stronger.
