WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Look for dryness to hold through Friday night with continued cold daytime temps reaching the 40s and nights in the 20s and 30s. A frigid winter system continues to trend likely this weekend. Let’s go frame by frame:

For Saturday… A few rain, sleet and snow showers could develop, but there yet could be lots of dry time. Temperatures will hover mainly in the 20s and 30s; a brisk north wind will force the wind chill as low as the 10s at times.

For Saturday night… Snow showers… Cold ground plus frigid 10s for temperatures could encourage up to several inches of accumulation and slick roads. Wind will help reduce visibility and procure dangerous wind chills near 0 at times…
