BURGAW, Pender County — The Burgaw Fire Department is excited to introduce the newest member of its team, Halligan, or “Hal” for short, according to the department.
The Burgaw Fire Department said Hal has officially been adopted as its first-ever firehouse dog. The department shared that Hal took his first ride on a fire engine this week and loved every second of it.
According to the Burgaw Fire Department, Hal also welcomed his first visitors when two young community members stopped by the station to see the fire trucks and meet him.
Now that the adoption is official, the Burgaw Fire Department said Hal will begin training to prepare him for a variety of roles.
