BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – More than 30,000 gallons of untreated wastewater were discharged from a damaged sewer line on Tuesday, Jan. 27, according to the Brunswick County Public Utilities (BCPU).
BCPU staff said the sanitary sewer overflow was discovered near South Middleton Drive at approximately 1:12 p.m. and that they determined that a 2-inch sewer tap gate valve had failed.
