SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – Nigel Edge is scheduled to appear in court Friday, Feb. 6, for a Rule 24 hearing in connection with the September mass shooting at American Fish Company.
The hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. at the Brunswick County Courthouse in Courtroom 007. The Rule 24 hearing is a mandatory pretrial conference in all capital cases, at which the court determines whether the state intends to seek the death penalty.
Edge was arrested Sept. 28, 2025, for the shooting that resulted in three deaths and multiple injuries. Court records show he was indicted Jan. 5, 2026, on multiple charges…
