BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Former Governor Roy Cooper campaigned in Brunswick County on Wednesday, stopping by the county Democratic headquarters for a meet and greet as part of his U.S. Senate bid.
Cooper said one of his biggest goals is lowering the cost of living for North Carolina families. He identified affordable healthcare as a specific priority, citing recent cuts in Washington.
“We are the richest country in the world, we ought to find a way to make sure everybody has quality, affordable healthcare,” Cooper said. “I’m going to make that a guiding star when I get to the United States Senate in addition to the fact that stuff just costs too much for people right now.”…
