WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilmington City Council will consider awarding a $2.449 million construction contract for rehabilitation of the Front Street bridge at its meeting next week.
The proposed contract would be awarded to Saffo Contractors Inc. for work on the bridge on Front Street between Hanover Street and Red Cross Street.
The project includes a full replacement of the concrete bridge deck, repairs and recoating of the existing steel structure and installation of a 3-bar metal rail system that meets current NCDOT standards for pedestrian and vehicle safety…
