A lawsuit involving a former employee of Battleship North Carolina alleging illegal surveillance and termination by leadership has been dismissed.
Coast Guard veteran Chris Vargo of Wilmington filed a lawsuit in New Hanover County Superior Court in April 2025 alleging illegal surveillance and whistleblower retaliation by the executive director of Battleship North Carolina. Vargo’s attorney, Jonathan Marx of Chalmers, Adams, Backer & Kaufman, PLLC, filed a notice of voluntary dismissal on Feb. 11.
