NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – New Hanover County deputies arrested a man for a felony charge of possessing a weapon of mass destruction.
Edward James Timothy Joynt, 31, was taken into custody on Saturday, Feb. 14, on charges related to an anonymous tip received in May 2023, according to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest followed a joint investigation by the sheriff’s office and the FBI. Investigators state that enough evidence was gathered to charge Joynt with possession of a weapon of mass destruction.
According to arrest warrants, Joynt was allegedly in possession of approximately 1.25 pounds of ”C-4 Plastic Explosive Compound.”…
