HOLLY RIDGE, N.C. (WNCT) — Holly Ridge’s Planning Board is recommending two items to the town council ahead of their decision on annexing close to 1,500 acres of land.
Mayor Pete Parnian says that during Tuesday night’s meeting, the board unanimously decided to recommend a map amendment and Planned Unit Development (PUD) concept plan at Holly Ridge Development Group LLC’s request.
Planning boards only make recommendations and not final actions. North Carolina law says that if a governing body does not get a written report from the planning board within 30days of referral of the amendment to that board, the governing body may act on the amendment without the planning board report.
