WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Lilah Pate‘s first on-screen acting role happened when she was ten years old, when she was cast in the television series Deception. More than a decade later, after earning roles in the streaming series Outer Banks and The Summer I Turned Pretty, Pate played the lead female role in the hit Prime Video series The Runarounds, which was shot and set in Wilmington, about a band of high school guys who are trying to land their big break in the music industry.
The actor, writer and director said life changed following the September 2025 release of The Runarounds, though she didn’t immediately realize the impact the show had on fans while she was working on other projects.
“It was a really interesting time in my life when it was released, because I was working so intensely, so I didn’t really process it,” Pate said from California. “Only recently, to be candid, going on tour with the boys for a second was the first time I really felt the energy of the show and just the impact it’s had in people’s lives, which has really touched me. After the shows we would go out to the barricade and talk to a bunch of people and just hear their stories and how the show impacted them. So, I think meeting fans firsthand and seeing, you know, how the art actually touched them has been really, really cool.”…
