WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has opened a probe into a Wilmington police officer for alleged financial misconduct, an SBI spokesperson confirmed Friday.
The SBI wouldn’t confirm the name of the officer, but sources told WECT Investigates Lt. Dena Larry is the subject of the investigation after WPD found her allegedly falsifying her timesheets. Larry, sources said, clocked hours as if she were on-duty at WPD when she wasn’t, with the city footing the bill for time she allegedly didn’t work.
