Wilmington family opening new Thai restaurant in Hampstead

The family behind a handful of restaurants in Wilmington is opening a new Asian eatery in Hampstead.

“It’s going to be Thai Zen,” said Mone Somsnith, who owns and operates Tokyo 101, Umaii Thai and Pho Vanhly Noodle House in Wilmington with her family and partners.

She said the restaurants have many regular customers who come from Pender County. This new eatery will be more convenient for them. Somsnith said it’s been in the works for almost four years, but she hopes it will be able to open later this year.
