BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The Brunswick County Planning Board approved three new residential developments Monday that will bring more than 5,000 homes to the county, despite opposition from residents who raised concerns about infrastructure, schools, and quality of life.
The three approved projects are Cherry Tree, located near Winnabow along Cherrytree Road Northeast, which will include 1,000 homes, Mirasol near Saint James along Southport Supply Road, which will add 340 homes, and Canopy Planned Development, which will build 3,700 senior homes.
