NCDOT Offers Update, Plans Hearing On Cape Fear Memorial Bridge Replacement

The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is targeting June for a public hearing on the proposed replacement of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, which could be funded as a toll project.

The department expects to release a notice with details about the hearing on the project in the next four to six weeks, Trevor Carroll, NCDOT’s Division 3 engineer, told members of the Leland Town Council in an update Thursday.

“It was requested that we have it in June for most of the property owners that are affected by our alternatives to be able to come and speak at the public hearing where we receive comments,” Carroll said, “so we’re on schedule to accommodate that request.”…
