Wilmington restaurant honors James Van Der Beek with fundraiser

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A downtown Wilmington restaurant is hosting “James Van Der Beek Day” on Tuesday, March 24, to honor the “Dawson’s Creek” star who died Feb. 11 after a two-year battle with colon cancer.

Hell’s Kitchen served as a frequent filming location during the show’s six-season run.

The restaurant is donating a portion of sales to Blue Ribbon Run, a local organization that raises money for colorectal cancer research. The fundraiser runs until midnight…
