WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – New Hanover County is facing a $4 million budget deficit one year after a heated budget debate and a major tax cut.
County leaders say they’re not concerned about the deficit, with the budget process just beginning. The budget doesn’t have to be balanced until the county manager presents his recommended budget, which has a June 1 deadline.
