A burn ban is now in effect for the unincorporated areas of Brunswick County starting 8:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026. The Fire Marshal issued the ban because of windy, dry conditions that raise the risk of wildfires.
All burning within 100 feet of any structure is prohibited. The ban does not apply to open burning permits issued by the North Carolina Forest Service, but any burning of natural vegetation outside 100 feet of a home still requires a Forest Service permit.
