Living shoreline project tackles coastal erosion

HOLLY RIDGE, N.C. (WNCT) — The North Carolina Coastal Federation is partnering with Sandbar Oyster Co. to build a living shoreline along Morris Landing Clean Water Preserve.

A living shoreline is an alternative to a bulkhead or seawall when addressing erosion. Living shorelines absorb wave energy and allow sediment to accrue.
